  • A few of our ENCSD students participated in Soccer Special Olympics today at Gillette Soccer Park in Wilson and had a wonderful time!  Each student earned a ribbon for participation. Great job to our ENCSD Special Olympics Athletes!

  • ENCSD is lucky to have the BEST Housekeeping Department, which we have lovingly nicknamed “The School Sparkle Squad”

    They go above and beyond DAILY to make sure our campus is clean and sparkling for all students and staff.

  • The full ENCSD staff is back to work this week. On Monday we celebrated with bowling and a delicious lunch. Everyone had a blast! We are grateful to the owner of Westview Bowling Lanes, Leon Lamm for hosting us. He and his staff did a wonderful job. Thank you Leon for making our back-to-work Monday a fun day!

  • Last week Massey Activity Center finally had some old windows replaced. It will be fresh and ready when the students return for school.

    We hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day weekend!

  • To our staff who worked 2022 Operation Accelerate

    First, second and third shifts - We could not have done this without you. With all of us working together, the students had the BEST time possible. Thank you for all you did for our students!!

    To our four camp coordinators - thank you for the many months of planning to make sure our students and staff were taken care of and had the opportunity to make so many memories!

  • Day 10….our last day of 2022 Operation Accelerate!! We had our final water fun day, and the most fun!! So many memories were made these past two weeks. We hope our students had as much fun as we have had seeing them explore new adventures and learn new skills. We are already looking forward to next year!!

  • 2022 Operation Accelerare day 9!!! What. A. Fun. Day!!!

    • Stop one - Clemmons Educational State Park. Ranger James and Ranger Brett taught us about forest management and wildlife management. We went on a short hike through the forest and saw bugs and a teeny snake!
    • Stop two - We stopped at Pullen Park on the way home for a train ride and some time to just play.

    The kids are exhausted BUT they are enjoying a Wilson Tobs baseball game where they signed the National Anthem and enjoyed supper there.

  • Day 8!!! Our students made dirt dessert for brunch (again, why not!!!) played minute to win it games, participated in STEM activities, practiced blind volleyball, had *carnival food* for lunch (!!!) and had a blind volleyball tournament in the dorm tonight!

    Operation Accelerate 2022 is slowly coming to an end, but we have SO many more activities planned for our kiddos!!

  • Day seven!!! How does each day just keep getting more and more fun…? Today we went to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and had such a great day! The students were all over the place seeing all of the amazing exhibits, all while representing ENCSD well! No words can explain the fun that was had today…just look at the pictures and see!

    Tonight…an UNO tournament and basketball. These kids are going to sleep good tonight!

  • Operation Accelerate day SIX!!

    Dirt dessert for brunch (I mean, why not!!), pop darts in PE time (one of the most fun games!), charades for the afternoon (look at the joy on their faces ), and a movie with popcorn and snacks tonight!

    The most fun, the best memories, and we still have four more days to go!!
