  • It's been nice enough, the last couple of days, for students to get outside and enjoy the weather. Nothing wrong with some basketball or four square!

  • The ENCSD's summer program Operation Accelerate is back June 12-23, 2023! Come learn and explore beyond the classroom with on-campus activities and eventful field trips! Open to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students K-12 in Eastern North Carolina. Applications are due March 31st - Apply now!

  • 🤩 The dietary staff dressed up for a 60s & 70s Throwback event in the cafeteria today. Some of our other staff dressed for the event too! 🤩

  • 🏀Our last home boys basketball game is Tuesday at 4:00 PM against NCSD! We hope to see all of you here cheering the team!🏀

  • The ENCSD will have a School Advisory Council meeting on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 12:00pm in the Massey Activity Center. This meeting is open to the public.

  • 🤖 The middle school robotics team, Top Homies, got their new team shirts last week. They are ready to compete! 🤖

  • Last Friday the staff at ENCSD had a Deaf Bingo break in the middle of the day! We played bingo using ASL hand shapes to score a row. Michael, Lane, Briana, Stephanie, and Cedrick each won a round and we all had a good time.

  • Kerstin Anderson's class is busy with some classic learning tools. My teachers didn't let us have those in class when I was a kid!😁⭐️⭐️
  • The Homecoming game was Alumni vs. Students. We had a great turn out and everyone had a blast! 

  • We had a Pep Rally before the Homecoming game last week to build up the excitement before the game.

     

  • Every 3 months, the Cafeteria has a Birthday Celebration for the students birthdays. Here are pictures of everyone whose birthday was in either September, October or November. Happy Birthdays!

  • A HUGE thank you to our maintenance department for revamping our concession stand AND to our food service director for ensuring that we passed inspection! Not only did we pass, but we got a 100% sanitation rating!! ENCSD is a great place to be!!

  • Hats off to the officials for tonight’s game - they spent a few minutes before our game learning a few signs so the game was inclusive to all!

  • The Hornets played Heritage last night. The final score was Heritage 59 ENCSD 37. You can watch the whole game (in two halves) on our Facebook page.

  • The ENCSD Fighting Hornets Homecoming Basketball game happens Thursday, December 15th at 4:00pm.Tickets are $5 and kids under 12 are admitted free!

    The ENCSD alumni will be recognized at the game halftime. We request that alumni please RSVP by December 8, to heather.goins@esdb.dpi.nc.gov

    The Homecoming Social ist 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and students, staff, and alumni are welcome to attend.

  • ENCSD is dressing in themes the week of December 12th-16th for Homecoming and Spirit week!

  • The high school history classes took a field trip back in time to the North Carolina Museum of History today!

  • 🏀 The Basketball and cheer team are traveling to Morganton to compete during their Homecoming activities. Wish them luck! Go team! ⛹️🏀

  • As Y'all know, Monday was Halloween. As usual we had a Halloween Parade for the kids. The ENCSD staff decorated for the event and gave out scares and treats. Both the students and the staff had a great time!

  • The cafeteria had a contest for Halloween. A skull was filled with candy and the students had to guess how many pieces were in the skull. Ayden Wise was the winner! There were 114 pieces and Ayden guessed 125.

  • On Friday the ENCSD staff had a blind volleyball game and participated in The Great Chili Kickoff, a chili cook off competition. Ten staff members brought their secret recipe Chili and all staff got to taste them and vote for the best. The winners were Barbara Coble in third place, Briana Brandon in second, and Vickie Morgan in First place. Congratulations winners!

  • The away game against RMA on November 8th has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
