Our department serves both the students & staff here at the ENCSD. The Dietary staff prepares two meals a day (Breakfast & Lunch) and afternoon snacks for all students. Our school lunches provide at least 1/3 of the daily requirements for our students. This includes calories, protein, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, and fiber.The fat content is kept below 30% calories from fat and below 10% calories from saturated fat and 0% trans-fat.They are also low in cholesterol and sodium. All lunch meals follow the Offer versus Serve (OVS) serving method which allows the student to select nutritious options. School lunch meals offer students fat free or 1% milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and grains. In addition to the breakfast and lunch meals, supper is prepared for dorm students Sunday-Thursday. Dorm students are provided daily bedtime snacks. Dietary prepares food for special events happening on campus and students with special dietary needs. Meals are available for staff purchases as well.
Breakfast and lunch meals served at the ENCSD meet state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
