  • What am I?

    Watermelons are part of the melon family and are long, oval shaped fruit that have a thick, green skin with red or yellow flesh. The entire watermelon is edible but traditionally only the sweet flesh is eaten.

  • ENCSD participated in the Wilson County Special Olympics soccer event today. The students played hard, had fun, and won 1st place! Go hornets! 🐝⚽💚💛

  • The Honets played at North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton this weekend. Stephanie Gray was there to support our team. You can watch some video of the game and see the final score on our Facebook Page.

  • Fallon DiBlasio's class is learning about healthy foods and made their own orange juice. 🍊

  • Look at our co-ed soccer team ready to travel to Morganton Friday to take on NCSD!! Go Hornets!!! We will be streaming the game on Facebook Live at 2:00pm Saturday, October 7 so make sure you tune in! 🐝⚽️

  • Students have been busy in Art! They have time-traveled into Ancient Times, taking a trip down the Nile with a crocodile, painting on the walls in the Caves of Lascaux, and visiting the ancient ruins of Stonehenge. Meanwhile, high school students have been elbow-deep in papier mâché paste constructing architectural letters and animal head trophies.

  • Doug Jones, from the Housekeeping staff, retired today. He's been here 25 years! He's a hard worker and kind gentleman. Doug and his wife are now both retired. We will miss you Doug! Enjoy your retirement!

  • We have been working on our emergency plans. In case of a fire alarm, we have marked meeting areas with the school mascot. Manny did a great job painting our mascot on the wall!

  • Kerstin Anderson's class has been learning about the difference between night and day and comparing the moon phases as well as learning about the constellations that we can see at night! They had a fun activity yesterday making constellations out of mini marshmallows and toothpicks!

  • The cafeteria staff celebrated student birthdays for the months of June, July, and August today. 🎂🎁🎈

  • (Part 2!!!) Week 2, Day 4 - students completed their bird sculptures and bat houses, used their brains to build in STEM and solve puzzles during Brain Ball, and the finale: a scavenger hunt!!!!! 🕵️

  • Week 2, Day 3!! Rainy days can’t hold back our fun!! ParTee Shack adventures for the win!! The kids had an amazing time playing indoor putt putt - it was a great way to cure the rainy day blues! ⛳️💚💛🐝

  • Rainy days are still full of hands on fun at Operation Accelerate! Building in STEM, molding birds in Art, Drop Cup in PE, and ASL games! Even inside basketball and football to end the day.

  • Day 4 of Operation Accelerate!! Thursday at the farm!! H.O.P.E Farms and Learning Center in Greenville was the destination of the day. The students had fun petting and feeding animals, crafts, and riding the train!

  • Day 3 - What did they do today? Robotics in STEM, bat houses, mini golf in PE, ASL telephone and headband games, mixed media self portraits in art and group games in the afternoon. Tonight - a glow party tonight!!

  • Day 2 of Operation Accelerate was fun in the sun at Falls Lake! Water, sand, and smiling faces all around!

  • Day one of Operation Accelerate was full of fun! Students created their own putt putt holes, made finger print art, played ASL bingo, and tie-dyed their own shirts. Students will have a blind volleyball tournament tonight - check in tomorrow to see our next adventure!

  • It's the last day of school and our students attended an Awards Ceremony in their honor. Congratulate them on another successful year of school!🥳💐🏅Have a wonderful summer y'all!

  • I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream! Yesterday afternoon the students with perfect attendance for this school year enjoyed an ice cream social as a treat! 🍨

  • We had the spring dance with a live DJ last week. There were dance Kings and Queens for elementary, middle school, and high school and yummy food.
