Last night, ENCSD's Class of 2026 hosted a dinner fundraiser to raise money for their senior trip. Students have worked as a team for months planning menus, designing flyers, selling tickets, handling money, grocery shopping for ingredients, making desserts in collaboration with their Culinary Arts curriculum, and more!
The High School and Middle School Robotics Teams are fundraising to travel to the NRSC VEX Robotics Tournament in Colorado! We are opening a pop-up store from today, March 13, through the 17th, where you can help support our teams by ordering popcorn 🍿 in a variety of delicious flavors!
Last week, the 10th and 11th grade visited the Coastal Studies Institute in Wanchese, NC. The students investigated the important role of oysters🦪 in the Albemarle-Pamlico ecosystem. They identified the different animals that live in oyster reefs such as the American eel, mud crabs 🦀, gobies, mummichogs, small shrimp 🦐, and barnacles. The students then took their oyster clumps to the lab to look at our samples under the microscope 🔬, seeing up close and personal about the workings of oysters and barnacles.
Our robotics teams wanted to thank everyone for their support last night.
The turnout was more than we had hoped for.

Our middle and high school Robotics Teams are raising money to travel to the NRSC VEX Robotics Tournament in Colorado this spring to face off with other deaf and hard-of-hearing teams across the country! They are partnering with The Candy Man Inc., a locally owned business that operates in our very own Wilson since 1972.
Tomorrow's basketball game against DASH has been cancelled. This ends the Fighting Hornets' basketball season.
Good afternoon ENCSD families, After much discussion, we have determined it is in the best interest of our students, families, and staff to remain closed for the rest of the week. Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th will be a remote learning day for our students. Students should be sure to log into classes tomorrow and should use the Thursday and Friday for review and reading practice.
We have received sad news today. The Mason Dixon Tournament has been cancelled for this year. Superintendent Dr. Edwards has posted an Announcement for the Deaf community.
