💚💛 Deaf Awareness Celebration: Green & Gold Day! 💛💚

Our Deaf Awareness Celebration continued last Friday with Green & Gold Day! Students and staff proudly wore our school colors and showed off their ENCSD spirit from head to toe! 🎉

It was wonderful to see our school community come together, filling the day with green, gold, smiles, and school pride. 💚💛 From spirited outfits to enthusiastic participation, everyone helped make the celebration a memorable one!

💚💛 Deaf Awareness Week: Role Model Day 💛💚

Thursday was Role Model Day at ENCSD, and our high school students had an inspiring opportunity to learn from Deaf professionals about careers and their futures! 🌟

As part of our “DEAF-initely Careers” event, presenter Gay Joyner spoke with students about the many career opportunities available to Deaf individuals and the importance of setting goals, building skills, and creating your own future.

🤟 Deaf Awareness Week: Silent Day 🤟

Last week, ENCSD was honored to welcome Hope Turner as part of our Deaf Awareness Week celebration! 💚💛

Wednesday’s theme was Silent Day, giving our students and staff an opportunity to reflect on communication, accessibility, and the importance of ensuring that every voice can be heard—whether spoken or signed.

🙌 DEAF AWARENESS WEEK TUESDAY: HANDS UP! 🙌

Last Tuesday was all about putting our “Hands Up!” and celebrating the beauty, importance, and expression of American Sign Language (ASL)! 🤟

📖 We also enjoyed a special ASL Story TellingASL Story Telling on Monday! Our students gathered together as we shared We Deaf-initely Can: Let the Adventures Begin! by Karlie Waldrip. As the story was presented in ASL, the beautifully illustrated book pages were displayed on the overhead screen, allowing everyone to follow along and enjoy the adventure together.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of stories, ASL, and Deaf culture!

💙 Deaf Awareness Week — Day 1 photos! 💙

We kicked off our Deaf Awareness Week celebration on Monday with a sea of blue! 🔵

Our students and staff proudly joined in our “Wear Blue” theme, showing their spirit and helping us celebrate Deaf awareness, culture, community, and pride. From blue shirts and sweatshirts to fun accessories, our school was filled with blue and lots of enthusiasm!

☕🎨 Learning Through Our 5 Senses! 👀👃

Preschool and first grade have been exploring the five senses this week, and today they brought their learning together for a fun, hands-on activity!

The two classes teamed up to create artwork by painting with coffee. 🎨☕ As they painted, students talked about the color they saw and the smell of the coffee, putting their senses to work while getting creative!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to learn, explore, and create together! ❤️

Our brilliant 2nd and 3rd grade scientists stepped into the shoes of astronomers today for a hands-on solar system project! 🎨☀️
Using a reference photo, students carefully painted and assembled their very own models of the planets. From brushing on Jupiter’s stormy red spot to detailing Saturn's rings, their creativity and attention to detail were truly stellar! 🌍🖌️
Hands-on learning makes science come alive! We are so proud of their hard work, patience, and curiosity. 🌟👏
