The Eastern NC School for the Deaf will offer a SIGN ON BONUS of $7500 to Highly Qualified candidates. Highly Qualified is defined as having obtained a NC DPI Certified Teaching license AND the Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching area.

CTE Agriculture/Horticulture Teacher

The School is actively recruiting for a CTE Agriculture/Horticulture Teacher.  This is a high school teaching position in Agriculture/Horticulture which is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The Horticulture program is a series of prescribed courses for grades 9-12 that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the horticulture and agriculture industry. The Agriculture/Horticulture program delivers instruction that develops student competencies leading to postsecondary education and employment.

School Testing Coordinator

The Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (ENCSD) is a state school that provides a specialized learning environment for deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind students. During the regular 10-month School Year, the ENCSD offers students an academic setting with low classroom ratios, career and vocational skill development, technology-based programming, and an overall accessible environment for learning through American Sign Language. In addition, the ENCSD offers a full-service boarding program for students residing outside of Wilson County.

School Guidance Counselor

The Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (ENCSD) is a state school serving the 54 easternmost counties that provides a specialized learning environment for deaf and hard of hearing students, kindergarten through 12th grade, following a typical school calendar. The ENCSD offers students an academic setting with standards-based instruction, low classroom ratios, career and vocational skills development, current technology, and an overall accessible environment for learning through American Sign Language.

Computer Teacher

We are actively recruiting for a School Educator, working title: Computer Teacher.  The primary purpose of this position is to provide academic instructional activities with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in Computer Science working directly under the School Principal. This position vacancy will remain open until filled.

Math Teacher, Middle School

We are actively recruiting for a School Educator, working title: Middle School Math Teacher. The primary purpose of this position is to provide academic instructional activities with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in High School Math working directly under the School Principal. This position vacancy will remain open until filled.

EC Adaptive Curriculum Teacher

The ideal candidate will have prior experience collaborating with teachers, clinical professionals and administration to address student needs, department needs and make curriculum adaptations. Have prior experience advising parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvements and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment, administering, proctoring, complying, submitting all state mandated test, portfolios, and inventories and be familiar with state policies/procedures for testing.

Educational Diagnostician

The school is currently recruiting a School Educator, working title:  Educational Diagnostician. The primary purpose of this position is to implement the special education appraisal process by assessing the educational learning styles and program needs of students receiving special education services. This position provides diagnostic information and works cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students who are deaf and/or hard or hearing and/or with additional disabilities.
