Description of Work
The primary purpose of this position is to perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and repairs ensuring that campus facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires multiple trade skills that will allow him/her to perform various maintenance tasks but is required to perform work at or near the journey level in the plumbing and mechanical trades. This position will assist in completing assigned tasks and provide support to other staff members performing trade skills during preventive maintenance or other duties assigned by the supervisor as deemed necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
65% Performs repairs and maintains the facility as assigned primarily in the following trade areas: plumbing, and mechanical trade 30% Perform a variety of duties within the scope of a Maintenance Construction Technician II as assigned through the work order system. Assist other mechanics in carpentry and painting trades as needed. 5% Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
