Good morning,
As a school administrator and Title IX Coordinator, bullying prevention has always been one of my top priorities. Too often, students become targets of bullying—whether from an individual or a group of peers. These actions, whether verbal or physical, can leave a lasting and damaging impact on a young person’s well-being.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time for us to come together and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Let’s use this opportunity to promote kindness, acceptance, and respect in our schools and communities.
The Center for Safer Schools will be raising awareness throughout the month with daily posts on social media that highlight the dangers of bullying and cyberbullying. We encourage everyone to join in spreading the message that “Kindness Changes Everything.
Unity Day – Wednesday, October 22

The signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month is Unity Day, when students and staff are encouraged to wear orange to show their support for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. ENCSD, staff who wear orange may also wear jeans on this day.
Positive Messages to Share with Students
Help reinforce a culture of empathy and support with messages like these:
- Being kind to others makes you feel better about yourself.
- Always be nice to others—you never know, they may be your boss one day.
- Stand up against bullying by inviting someone who’s being singled out to sit with you.
- Kindness is free—sprinkle it everywhere.
- If you see something wrong, have the courage to make it right. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
- The way we treat people is a reflection of who we are—choose to be a light.
- One kind word can change someone’s entire day.
- It takes courage to stand up for others—be that brave person.
- Your voice matters. Use it to help, not to hurt.
Thank you for your continued support in helping to end bullying and cyberbullying. Together, we can continue to create a safe and supportive school climate where every student feels valued and respected.
